Error ID: 7000 Snort service failed to start

Problem: After installing SNORT service, the service does not start and following event is dsiplayed in System log

event

What makes the issue more confusing is that running of command ” c:\snort\bin\snort -i2 -s -l c:\snort\log\ -c c:\snort\etc\snort.conf” shows no errors.

Solution: REGEDIT > HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SnortSvc > ImagePath; confirm that this is correct as below…
