Disabling XP Balloon Tips.

On Windows XP SP2, a balloon window is displayed every time a print job is sent to a networked printer informing the user that the job has been spooled succesfully. To disable this option add the following registry value:

Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Settings
Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: EnableBalloonNotificationsRemote
Value: 0

To disable “Notification Area Balloon Tips” in Windows XP add the following registry value:

Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
Data Type: DWORD
Value Name: EnableBalloonTips
Value: 0
